Barbara was born in Manchester and lived there until she moved to university in Leeds to study maths. After a year at Imperial College studying for an MSc in Business Studies, she started her working life teaching maths in a secondary school in Leeds. Deciding she needed a change, she then trained as a Chartered Accountant at Thomson McLintock & Co in Leeds, a firm which later formed part of KPMG.
From there she moved to a smaller practice in York for 10 years until she moved to Croydon due to her husband’s work. She continued working and getting experience with a wide variety of clients, including a period helping to run a practice in Oxted, until 2001 when she joined Keyte & Co.
In January 2012 Malcolm Keyte retired and the business merged with Roger Lugg & Co. Barbara continues to provide a high quality service to the Keyte & Co clients and has been integral in ensuring that they have received continuity in the advice and assistance they require.
Barbara now lives in Hurst Green with her husband Graham. She has two grown up children and two grandchildren and when she finds any spare time she plays as much tennis as possible and enjoys gardening, craftwork and painting.
