Beena grew up in Leeds where she first started work with a small firm of accountants as a receptionist/bookkeeper. The partners encouraged her to go further with her studies, where she gained her AAT qualification.
After many years of working there, she decided to move into industry as an Accountant. The companies she worked with included vintage football shirts, the scrap metal industry and combustion technology. During the latter job, she got married and had to plan her wedding around the year end.
She made the move from up north to down south in 1997, where she continued to work in industry, this time as a European Accountant for the semiconductor industry. Here she did block release for her Chartered Certified Accountant qualification. Then she had her first daughter, and needed a job which would be flexible, so she moved into the Public Sector – auditing Councils and the NHS for just over 9 years.
In 2013 she moved to Roger Lugg & Co as an Accounts Senior, back to practice, where she first started, but in a different role, providing a general accounting and tax service to clients.
Beena lives with her husband and three girls, who continue to keep her busy with her other job roles, being those of a nurse, teacher, cook and gardener. Her hobbies are gardening, reading and cycling when she can.
